CVRep presents Hand to God by Robert Askins March 28-April 9, 2023.

Hand to God received five Tony Award nominations, including Best New Play. Tormented by feelings of lust and loss, an unhappy teenage boy tries to please his mother by performing with a puppet for her church ministry program. However, things get slightly out of hand and do not go according to plan. Tackling the nature of good and evil, Hand to God is a metaphor to getting to the crux of matters. Audience members should note that this dark comedy contains sexualized scenes, violence, profanity and puppet nudity.
Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 2:00 PM
Season Subscriptions go on sale to the general public, August 1, 2022.
While the State of California has loosened pandemic restrictions, CVRep’s top priority will remain the well-being and safety of patrons, employees and volunteers. All CVRep staff and volunteers at performances will be fully vaccinated and will adhere to making protocols. Because COVID protocols continue to evolve, it is not clear what requirements will be in place for the 2022-23 Season. CVRep’s current COVID protocol requires that all patrons, staff, volunteers, cast and crew remain masked. Performers on stage will be unmasked during the performance. Event Details
The Palm Springs Cultural Center and The Bluegrass Standard Magazine are pleased to announce a new bluegrass music series – Sand, Stars & Guitars! The series, which will take place at the Historic Camelot Theatre inside the Palm Springs Cultural Center is bringing award-winning bluegrass favorites from all over the country, and in some cases, bringing them to Southern California for the first time.
Popular pianist, singer-songwriter, and Tony Award winning actor Levi Kreis is the second artist in the series, appearing on April 5th. Kreis, whose roots are in traditional gospel and country, has grown his repertoire to include a broad blend of Americana, from Motown to pop. An East Tennessee native, Levi spent his youth learning everything he knows from country music’s Little Miss Dynamite Brenda Lee. Traveling on her tour bus and studying her genius on stage and off, Kreis adopted Lee’s strong work ethic and classy reputation. But it was Brenda’s ability to have an audience in the palm of her hand that Kreis sought to make his own. By all accounts, Kreis succeeded. To this day Lee confesses, “I taught him everything he knows!”

Dezart Performs presents The Garbologists, the acclaimed new comedy by Lindsay Joelle April 14–23, 2023.
A White conservative New York City sanitation worker and a Black Ivy-educated single mother are thrown together in the cab of a NYC garbage truck, working for the Dept of Sanitation. They spend their shifts bickering, one-upping each other, and practicing the secret art of mongo: hunting for treasure in the trash. But as their lives become increasingly entwined, they discover some things are easier to toss than others. Honoring our essential workers, THE GARBOLOGISTS is a hopeful story about finding common ground in uncommon times.

Palm Springs is a place like no other when it comes to Drag. Between our numerous gay bars, LGBTQ+-owned restaurants, and fabulous other venues, it is a rare moment when you can’t see hair heels and attitude in our desert oasis.
Luckily Palm Springs is host to a growing number of drag shows, and people are packing them because what could signal normal better than a bunch of clowns in dresses. These shows are open and inviting to everyone, although the clientele does tend to slant gay (you are still in Palm Springs, after all). Drag shows can be enjoyed by anyone looking to have a great time, grandparents, bachelorettes, straight boys, or lesbians. Make sure you tip the performers (Drag isn’t cheap) and be respectful; these are queer spaces where our community can come together. Happily, most drag queens now accept Venmo, so not having any dollar bills on you is no excuse.
