Palm Springs Pride is here! For those of us preparing to entertain you this week and weekend, it’s like preparing for the Olympics – a year of planning goes into making this a safe and fun time to enjoy Greater Palm Springs.
We’re psyched to be presenting the Arenas District Gateway to Pride stage with KGAY 106.5 starting Friday afternoon.

Gay Desert Guide’s Events calendar shows 25 events Friday, 44 on Saturday and 33 on Sunday! There’s literally something for everyone culminating with the Pride Parade at 10 am Sunday. Stop by and say hi!

The Arenas District Pride Weekend Kickoff presented by KGAY 106.5 and Gay Desert Guide gets the weekend officially underway on Friday, November 4, from 5–11:30 pm. The party starts with high energy DJ’s spinning and dancing in the streets and the Arenas District is your spot for house and dance music all weekend at the Gay Desert Guide and KGAY 106.5 Palm Springs Stage. The KGAY 106.5 Arenas District Block Party continues through the weekend, with a roster of DJ’s spinning for the heart of the Palm Springs gayborhood. LGBTQ+ bars and local businesses pack to the rafters and spill onto the streets for the biggest free LGBTQ+ street party in Palm Springs. Join Pride revelers and dancers at the open-air beverage lounge with DJ Sugarfree, DJ Femme A (Annie Flores), DJ Ray Rhodes, DJ Modgirl (Kellie McQuinn) and DJ Madevza on Saturday, with KGAY Retro brunch’s DJ Galaxy and Eric Ornelas on Sunday. Modernism Week 2023 Tickets on Sale This Week

Modernism Week 2023, the annual 11-day festival, will take place February 16–26 and the event schedule is now posted, with tickets going on sale Tuesday, November 1 at 12 noon. Modernism Week will feature more than 350 events including the Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale, tours of iconic homes in more than 30 neighborhoods, and the popular Signature Home Tour on both weekends. Also offered are architectural walking, biking and double-decker bus tours, tours of the historic Annenberg Estate at Sunnylands, a classic car show, garden tours, nightly parties, and a special series of compelling and informative talks. 18th Annual Greater Palm Springs Summit

The Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) 18th annual Greater Palm Springs Summit will take place on Monday, October 31 from 9–11 am at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert. Traditionally this event draws more than 800 of the region’s business, civic, and education leaders. It’s an excellent and rare opportunity to hear from some of the area’s leaders, influencers, and decision-makers. This year’s theme is “Emergence.” The morning event will reveal the annual economic report and forecast, and also showcase our region’s business diversification strategies and goals to mobilize a long-term sustainable effort to elevate the economy of the Coachella Valley. Palm Springs Pride presents the George Zander Candlelight Vigil and March on Tuesday, November 1 at 6 pm, beginning at the Downtown Park with a rally and march through the heart of Palm Springs. Reflect, remember, and stand up against hate violence around the world and honor the memories of all victims of hate crimes. Remember George Zander and Chris Zander on the anniversary of the day they were attacked in Downtown Palm Springs. George died on December 10, 2015; join in and speak out against hate. More info

Boozehounds presents their very first Bow-Wow Ball on Thursday, November 3 at 4 pm, in participation with the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, The Humane Society of the Desert, Bianca Rae Foundation and Animal Samaritans. The Palm Springs Art Museum presents the Say Gay! T-Party & T-Dance Pride Celebration on Friday, November 4. Picking up on the city of Palm Springs’ Pride theme of Say Gay! in response to the ongoing attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community across the United States, the museum event will begin at 2 pm, featuring a reception and roundtable of local notables including Mayor Lisa Middleton, Dr. Jonathan Paul Higgins and Monique “Fauxnique” Jenkinson. The panel, moderated by former mayor Ron Oden, will spill the tea on current LGBTQIA+ issues and will adamantly Say Gay! This fall, the Palm Springs Cultural Center presents a Fellini Retrospective, screening a different film by Fellini on the first Friday of every month through December. On Friday, November 4 the film will be La Strada (1954). With this breakthrough film, Federico Fellini launched both himself and his wife and collaborator Giulietta Masina to international stardom, breaking with the neorealism of his early career in favor of a personal, poetic vision of life as a bittersweet carnival. Palm Canyon Drive is home to the Pride Festival Marketplace, on Saturday, November 5 from 11 am–9 pm, and Sunday from 11 am–6 pm [Check out the official Event Map here]. Enjoy beverages and food with friends while you explore a diverse array of artists, entertainers, beverage stations, and purveyors of various items, including jewelry, snacks, and sweets. Add all that to great shopping, restaurants, clubs, and entertainment venues. Features include a Children’s Garden space for games and crafts and more, pluse the Youth Zone presented by US Bank and hosted by Safe Schools Desert Cities offers continuous entertainment and activities, free food and drink, games, dancing, seating, contests, games, youth-only confidential testing, drag and make-up fun, and much more. The colorful Palm Springs Pride Parade with this year’s theme, “Say Gay,” steps off in the Uptown Design District at Tachevah and Palm Canyon Dr. on Sunday, November 6 at 10 am and travels south through downtown ending at the entrance to the Pride Festival at Amado. Spectators gather to cheer and support local organizations, activists, and themed floats along historic Palm Canyon Dr. Four individuals and one national organization will serve as the Grand Marshals: PFLAG is the National Grand Marshal, Rev Benita Ramsey is the Grand Marshal, Willie Rhine is the Community Grand Marshal, and Chef Andre’ Carthen is the Celebrity Grand Marshal [Learn more about the Grand Marshals]. Panel moderators will lead the authors through discussions of their work, hearing from their point-of-view, helping attendees to discover new authors or get reacquainted with long-time favorites! Lez in Waterland

She Entertainment SD and Palm Springs Pride present Lez in Waterland on Sunday, November 6 from 12–6 pm at the Sonoran. The alter ego of non-binary comic/actor Caldwell Tidicue, “Bob The Drag Queen” describes herself as “hilarious, beautiful, talented and…humble.” Bob’s unabashed confidence won her the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” on season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, multiple acting roles, including the Emmy Award nominated HBO Max series We’re Here. Bob is also an accomplished stand-up comedian with two solo specials under his belt and a starring role in the recent Netflix comedy concert film ‘Stand Out’ executive produced by Wanda Sykes. Desertopia is back for Palm Springs Pride weekend, Friday–Sunday, November 4–6. This very queer celebration of music, dance, and art is a uniquely Palm Springs experience. Featuring a caftan-laden pool party, a club night of extravagant proportions and an outdoor afternoon festival featuring the finest in queer talent and music under the sun and stars in the majestic backdrop of Mt San Jacinto. On Friday, it’s All Night with DJ Harvey at Reforma Night Club form 9 pm–2 am. Then on Saturday, the Bears in Space Pool Party is at Infusion Beach Club from 1–6 pm, and Saturday Night Club Desertopia is at The Sonoran from 9 pm–2 am. This free event will feature an exciting soundtrack to dance, flag, or just watch. There is an instructional class preceding the event at 11 am and the DJ starts at noon. Celebrating their 20th anniversary, the Rancho Mirage Festival of the Arts takes place Saturday, November 5 (10 am–6 pm) and Sunday, November 6 (10 am–4 pm) at the Rancho Mirage Community Park and Amphitheater. This outdoor art exhibition features epicurean delights, libations, music, art installations, and performance art. Local artists Kim Manfredi and Tim Shockley were chosen as featured artists. Desert Film Society presents a screening of Father (Otac) on Saturday, November 5 at 10 am at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. The film will be in Serbian with English subtitles. A small town in Serbia: Nikola, day laborer and father of two, is ordered to give up his children to social services after poverty and hunger drive his wife to commit a desperate act. But when Nikola discovers the local administration may be corrupt, he decides to travel across Serbia on foot and take his case directly to the national ministry in Belgrade. Get tickets
