For reasons that will remain off-the-record for now, Tiffany Kane is not your average transgender woman, as if any transgender person is average.  All people deserve the right to thrive and reach extraordinary potential, and I offer my kudos to everyone who is creating a new wave of understanding for the “T” in the LGBT community – especially those who have been on the front lines for decades.  It's about time, don't you think?

In Tiffany's official bio, we learn “she realized she was transgender in 1999, but it was not until 2004 that she decided to play an active role in the “Trans” community. 'Being visible and staying true to yourself is a power,' she says, as she is endeavors to move mountains for her community and our community as a whole.

Tiffany relocated to Palm Springs in May of 2013 from San Francisco where she was the Corporate Events Business Development Manager for Pier 39/Fisherman’s Wharf.  In fact, she worked with four different divisions of the company, producing over 110 events monthly while managing international relations and large corporate accounts. She explains, 'Pier 39 is the third largest tourist destination in the United States, third to Disneyland & Disney World.'

Tiffany and her wife Anya also owned and operated Fantazia SF, a San Francisco-based entertainment company which received official City sponsorship for their Pride event, a benefit for youth struggling with HIV. Fantazia SF was also the first follies-style drag/trans variety show to appear on Broadway since the Finocchio’s show.

Tiffany is currently the Events and Entertainment Director for Chill Bar Palm Springs on Arenas road in the heart of Palm Springs' LGBTQ neighborhood, where she has produced many events which have raised thousands of dollars for benefiting organizations, among them The LGBT Center of the Desert, Street Life Project (dedicated to rehabilitating the homeless in Palm Springs), Wounded Warriors, The PS Animal Shelter, The NestEggg Food Bank, Equality California, Desert AIDS Project and Make a Wish Foundation.”

Tiffany is seen here working with the some of Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and representatives of the leather community at a recent fundraiser.

Tiffany says, “PS I love you because…”

  1. You are incredibly open and accepting.  It has been easy and beautiful to live here openly as a transgender woman.
  2. You are amazingly artistic! Just one example, I have come to love and appreciate the artistry of Mid-Century Modern architecture and design.
  3. The LGBT community and our allies are amazing.  Not until i was in business in Palm Springs did I realize how many different organizations and support groups exist to empower our community.
  4. You haven't been overrun by major corporations. San Francisco was overrun by the technology sector, and now studio apartments rent for $3,000 a month. I am happy that Palm Springs caters to small business owners and unique boutiques and shops, making Palm Springs a charming, quaint and comfortable to live.
  5. You're stunningly beautiful!  Not very often does a mountain shoot straight up, as most mountains have a slow incline. Literally our houses and businesses are right at the summit, surrounded by mountainous beauty.

As seen at the ribbon cutting for Chill Bar Palm Springs,Tiffany Kane is an angel among us.

Tiffany concludes, “I thank all the locals who have accepted me into the neighborhood. I honestly do love you Palm Springs. After working hard my adult life, this is where my dreams are coming true.  I feel like we are most connected and powerful when we stand together and give back for a cause, which is why at Chill Bar we are dedicated to working with our community, being a part of it and providing outstanding service with a smile. Our philosophy? Giving back to the community by hosting 'Events with a Cause.'”

Well done, Tiffany.  The community thanks you and your team for all you do.
