Social purpose technology company Hello Computer, Inc., which recently launched its edtech mobile app, StoryTime International, will be featured at this year’s World Literacy Summit at Oxford University in England April 2-4, 2023.
“We are thrilled and honored to be presenting our ESL (English as a Second Language) mobile app for children who want to practice English, as well as read and hear stories aloud in their mother tongue,” says Rossana Jeran, the company’s Co-Founder and CEO. “Now, every child across the globe has the opportunity to read and HEAR stories in their native language. Being selected to present at the World Literacy Summit validates the thoughtfulness, dedication, and expertise that went into launching StoryTime International as a solution to advance worldwide literacy.”
The World Literacy Summit is a biannual event hosted by the World Literacy Foundation, and is the largest assembly of literacy experts in the world with over 600 in-person attendees from 85 countries; another 40,000 people will view this year’s Summit via webinar.
Featured at the World Literacy Summit will be StoryTime International, which was created by Hello Computer, Inc. Co-Founder and Developer Christopher Taylor as a revolutionary digital tool to inspire children all over the world to be passionate about reading and writing. Providing dynamic story content that never tells the same story twice and app features that inspire literacy despite geographic location or internet access, this unique, “edutainment” style app helps early readers read and is the perfect digital solution for parents and teachers to offer endless, dynamic stories in and out of the classroom.
In addition to dynamic story content, StoryTime International’s activity center encourages play and imagination with activities such as silly sounds, silly sentences, jokes, wordless picture books, flash cards, tracing of numbers, letters, and shapes, and a built-in digital piano, making the app truly one of a kind. Most importantly, StoryTime International’s features improve reading, vocabulary, and writing, while inspiring creativity and a love of language.
StoryTime has earned two edtech awards: a Go Global Top Placer Award from the International Trade Council in Washington, DC. and a Corporate Vision (UK) Education and Training Award for the “Most Unique Educational Children’s Mobile App”. StoryTime International is currently available for download from the Google Play Store.
