Premiering on Feb. 19, Preservation Mirage Presents Richard Neutraโs Maslon House marks Rancho Mirage organization’s first filmmaking venture, chronicling the rise and fall of the 1962 modernist gem at Tamarisk Country Club. Meanwhile, the book Canyon Country Club: The History and Design of Palm Springsโ Garden of Eden, written by Steve Treinen and edited by Steven Keylon, delves into the rich heritage of South Palm Springsโ Indian Canyons neighborhood. A book signing is set for Feb. 15 at the custom William Kriselโdesigned Dr. Maurice Rice Residence.
Three exciting design collaborations are revitalizing Palm Springs’ iconic aesthetic. Artist “Shag” and fashion designer Trina Turk have partnered with Tesselle to create exclusive cement tiles and nostalgic breeze blocks, blending midcentury-meets-Tiki flair with vibrant colors for indoor and outdoor use. Palm Springs Life magazine has teamed up with PS HomeBoys to launch a wallpaper line featuring collages of the magazine’s covers, showcasing icons like Dinah Shore and Frank Sinatra, allowing homeowners to infuse their spaces with desert glamour. Celebrating 40 years, David Skelley’s Boomerang for Modern in North Palm Springs offers authentic midcentury designs from the 1940s to the ’70s, blending vintage classics with new pieces and embodying timeless midcentury modern appeal. These collaborations highlight Palm Springs’ evolving design scene where nostalgia meets innovation.
