If there’s one thing everyone can agree on when it comes to Palm Springs, it’s this: It’s hot! And I don’t just mean the weather. This guide includes gay resorts and retail shops. NOTE: COVID-19 affects hours and services. Please search our directory for updates.
Let’s face it, plenty of guys come out to Palm Springs to relax, get some sun, and get rowdy! Home to many famous clothing-optional resorts, the Palm Springs area has lots of options for places to stay. But what about the locals, or those looking to explore outside their hotel room? Here are some of the better options for the day (or night) player looking for some more adult fun.
Clothing Optional Resorts
All Worlds (Annex)(formerly INN Exile)
535 S. Warm Sands Dr., Palm Springs
All Worlds is easily the premier gay adult resort in the Palm Springs area, and it draws crowds accordingly. Situated at the gateway to the cruisy Warm Sands neighborhood, All Worlds epitomizes most of what one imagines when thinking about gay resorts in Palm Springs. It’s more LA bath house than San Francisco sex club, but its real success is in straddling the two in true Palm Springs fashion. You’ll find a wide variety of guys at any gay location in the desert. but All Worlds is where you’d mainly go to find the more mainstream beautiful people – if that matters.
The acquisition of the former Inn Exile (formerly called All Worlds Annex), there’s that much more space to cruise and meet fun guys.. The famous Maze at All Worlds Annex, opened briefly after extensive renovations, and will remain closed during COVID-19.
UPDATE: Annex Maze has not yet opened, however they are offering Weekend Day/Night passes starting Friday & Saturday @ 11:am until 5:am and Sundays from 11:am until 7:pm
Day passes are now available for $20 Monday through Friday and $25 on weekends; night passes are $20 Monday through Thursday, $25 Friday through Sunday. Towels and locks are $5.
Exotic Dreams Resort Hotel (Formerly All Worlds)
526 S. Warm Sands Dr., Palm Springs
Billed as “Palm Springs California’s only true Lifestyle Resort” for swingers. Exotic Dreams Resort offers 40 rooms that are spread out over the property. Designed with romantic and sensual experience in mind, visitors can select from (9) customized and unique ‘room types’, for the one that best fits you and your partner’s needs, expectations and fantasy!
They feature “rich with restful and playful amenities”, (all with 24 / 7 guest access) including 3 pools, 2 Hot Tubs, large designated ‘group play’ areas and of course the Sex Maze.
68-300 Gay Resort Dr, Cathedral City
CCBC bills itself as the largest clothing-optional gay men’s resort in the USA, and indeed there is plenty of space to roam across its 3.5 acres, tucked discreetly into the base of the Cathedral City Cove neighborhood. CCBC stands for Cathedral City Boys Club, but while adults of all ages are present and welcome, its embrace of the wilder side — the resort plays host to fetish weekends throughout the year, and the monthly CumUnion sex party — tends to draw a clientele that’s more men than boys. (On hold during COVID-19)
A bar and restaurant are on property – Runway with good food, a full bar and carryout.
Features include the requisite pool and two hot tubs, four indoor play rooms, a large military-theme play area part tented and part open air, and the famed Walk that snakes around the back of the property, the landscape dotted with secluded (or not) alcoves for a bit of outdoor fun.
Passes (12 hours) are available all day every day for $25, with specials on Wednesdays ($20, includes barbecue) and Sunday mornings ($15, 7-11am, includes a rather robust continental breakfast), and $30 passes for holidays and special events; in and out privileges are included (so to speak). Rooms range from $129-$850 a night. Towels and lockers have an $8 rental fee (bring your own lock), and there are some necessities for sale in the front office should you run out of or forget something. Sling rental can be available with advance notice.
960 N Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs
Canyon Club has been around a while, but only recently has it started to become a hot stop for gay fun lovers in the manner of CCBC and All Worlds. While smaller than both, Canyon Club, on the north end of town, features spartan rooms and lounge, a sprawling grassy garden with classical sculptures and relaxing greenery, a giant pool and hot tub, and a perfectly seedy playroom, with sling, couch, glory hole stalls, and a sex bench.
Day passes are available for $15 ($10 Wednesdays and Sundays) from 10:30am to 10pm, or until 4am on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Helios: A Men’s Resort (Closed)
280 E Mel Ave, Palm Springs
Once a staple of Gay Palm Springs cruising, Helios Resort has closed for good and the facility is now a rehab center.
Gay Adult Shops
Not So Innocent
B 101, 2100 N Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, open until 10pm (closed Wed)
A friendly, open adult shop on the north end of town, a few steps from Toucans Tiki Lounge, this charming and well-appointed oasis lives up to its name. Friendly staff can give detailed advice on all sorts of apparatuses you didn’t think had nuances about them to discuss, and it’s a great place for rookies and experts to find what they may not even know they’re looking for. There’s a decent sized hetero section for the straight, bisexual and curious as well.
305 E Arenas Rd, Palm Springs, open until 11pm or later
Want some cute swimwear for your next pool party, or something for Underwear Night at Barracks? Don’t have time to wait for Amazon delivery? GayMart is your one stop shop. As the name implies, this Arenas Road staple is as commercial as it gets, and its wares aren’t cheap, but it’s a great place to get something juicily sexy and ostentatiously upscale. There’s a small adult section tucked in the back, but there are two other stores on the same block that are better equipped for those sorts of needs.
Mischief Cards & Gifts (formerly on Arenas)
226 North Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs
When Bongo Johnny’s on Arenas burnt down, Mischief was collateral damage. They moved to a great spot on Palm Canyon and expanded their offerings. Mischief Cards and Gifts in Palm Springs also features a new Mischief Online Store! Now you can shop their uniquely curated selection of adult gifts, supplies, and more – at our famously low prices – from anywhere in the USA!
319 E Arenas Rd, Palm Springs,
This little shop on Arenas Road may be small but its deals are mighty. Find a wide variety of cock rings, and a broad selection of lubes. T-sport shirts come in sizes from small to 5XL, and tank-tops and t-shirts go all the way to 6XL. Swimwear in adult sizes from XS to 7XL; underwear to 3XL.
606 E Sunny Dunes Rd, Palm Springs, open until 6pm (8pm Thu-Sat)
If you seek variety, this is the motherlode. The oldest adult shop in the area has four rooms: one for toys; another for accessories, swim and fetish wear, and books; one for general gay themed gifts; and one more that’s all greeting cards. Of all the adult shops in the area, Q Trading has the widest variety of goods and gifts, not just in terms of style but also brands, which means one can shop with the benefit of price comparison.
Gear Leather and Fetish
650 E Sunny Dunes Rd #1, Palm Springs, open until 7pm (9pm Fri-Sat)
Don’t be intimidated by the giant bed and leather-wrapped dummy in the middle of this delightful fetish-minded shop down the block from Q Trading. The gentlemen who run and work at Gear are there to help you find what you’re looking for when you feel like expanding your horizons.
Features include all sorts of leather goods, clothing from Nene, Nasty Pig and others, various toys and necessities like shower hose attachments, and every lube that has ever been invented (and some that haven’t). What keeps this shopper going back are the full shelves of cock rings and similar accessories, some of which cost less than $5 a piece (!). A necessary visit even just for that alone.
Perez Image Video
68366 Perez Rd, Cathedral City, open 24 hours
This wide-ranging video store in Cathedral City caters to straight and bisexual adventurers as much as anything, although there is plenty of gay material for those who like their porn on DVD. Arguably the main attraction here is the video booths, which are pay-as-you-go cubicles with nearly 100 channel options for your viewing pleasure. At least, that’s the official purpose. Some cruising is unofficially tolerated, as long as it’s discreet and you’re putting money in the slots; if you’re loitering as a freebie the staff are diligent about getting you to move along.
68424 Commercial Rd, Cathedral City, open 24 hours
Located a block from Perez Video and down the street from Trunks bar, Hidden Joy is a smaller but specifically gay version of the same idea. While the store area is quite small, the video booths downstairs are surprisingly expansive. Here you can buy an all access pass to the video booths for $7, good for twelve hours, and while you still want to conduct yourself with dignity in the open, it’s a bit more conducive to getting to know your fellow patrons on a deeper level.
