The City of Palm Springs is experiencing a historic renaissance as one of the hippest, most happening, ultra-cool resort destinations in the country – and with local businesses thriving, the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present its annual Awards Luncheon and Installation on Thursday, June 4. Tickets for the luncheon are $65.00 per person, tables of 10 are available.  The Title Sponsors are the City of Palm Springs and the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.

Trina Turk, “Business Person of the Year” – As she celebrates her wildly successful brand’s 20th anniversary and the recent launch of the new Mr. Turk store in Uptown Palm Springs, the city’s official fashion icon has created a global empire which continues to play a tremendous role in the city’s renaissance and flourishing Uptown Design District. A business visionary, who continues to expand and reinvent her brand, Turk’s business is a wonderful contributor to the economic success of Palm Springs. In addition, she is a supporter of the city’s business community and special events like Palm Springs Modernism Week. An avid fan of mid-century modern architecture, she recently underwrote the new Trina Turk Gallery at the Palm Art Museum’s Architecture & Design Center. Through her bold, stylish and colorful designs which perfectly suit the iconic Palm Springs resort lifestyle, Turk has made it her mission to celebrate the city and all things modern.

VIP Motor Cars Limited, “Large Business of the Year” – Serving the Coachella Valley for more than 40 years, VIP Motor Cars Limited, comprised of Mercedes-Benz of Palm Springs, BMW, Infiniti and Hyundai, is one of the city’s largest and most financially successful businesses and continues to play a major role in the Palm Springs renaissance underway.

Keith McCormick’s Palm Springs Exotic Car Auctions, “Medium Size Business of the Year” – One of the biggest economic boosters in the city, McCormick’s dedication to excellence and integrity has produced one of the largest and most prestigious bi-annual car auctions in the United States. A huge supporter of the City of Palm Springs, the Chamber and the Bureau of Tourism, McCormick promotes the Palm Springs brand through his thriving business and positive personality.

Ernest Coffee and Bootlegger Tiki, “Small Businesses of the Year” – Owners Chris Pardo and Jaime Kowal recently opened these two booming businesses which have taken Uptown by storm. The two “hot spots” have become focal points for a creative class of residents and visitors from all over the world coming to live, work and play in Palm Springs.

Savoury’s Catering at the Palm Springs Convention Center, “Green Business of the Year” – Owners Brad and Lynne Toles are leading the way and setting an example for other local businesses to follow when it comes to practicing and promoting green business. Savoury’s uses only biodegradable and compostable products which can be recycled. In addition, they actively participate in food composting.

The Clinton Health Matters Initiative, “Healthy Community Award” – Partnering with the community to support a host of health and wellness initiatives in Palm Springs, the Clinton Health Matters Initiative plays a crucial role in helping to activate health and wellness for every generation. In addition, the Initiative recently brought Chelsea Clinton to the city for a “Day of Action,” planting a “healthy” drought tolerant orchard in the Desert Highland Neighborhood for families in need.

The City of Palm Springs BUZZ Trolley, “The PS Chamber Buzz Award” – With more than 100,000 residents and visitors riding since it launched in December, 2014, the BUZZ is one of many transformational projects playing a tremendous role in the Palm Springs renaissance. The trolley delivers riders from as far north as the Riviera Resort through uptown and downtown – to as far south as the Saguaro Hotel. Palm Springs is like no place else and we’ve got the BUZZ to prove it!

Kelly and Tyler McLean, Founders of Splash House, “The Rising Star Award” – The pool party and music weekend, founded by local brother and sister duo Kelly and Tyler McLean is a Palm Springs tourism phenomenon, bringing music lovers from all over Southern California and beyond to fill local hotels during the slower summer months while experiencing ultra-cool DJ’s and the electronic dance music that has taken music festivals by storm. Partnering with Goldenvoice, the producers of the world famous Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Splash House is poised for greatness.

Locations 760, Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism and the City of Palm Springs, “The Superstar Award” – This dynamic group recently partnered with legendary fashion brand Louis Vuitton to premiere designer Nicolas Ghesquiere’s extraordinary Cruise 16 Collection at the iconic Bob Hope Estate. The result was more than 3,000 hotels rooms booked and thousands of international media impressions in publications like Vogue Magazine, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes and many more. Louis Vuitton also produced international fashion photo shoots at local hotels and other iconic settings throughout Palm Springs. Perhaps most importantly, the event was a tremendous economic stimulator for the city during the month of May and led to more than 15 MILLION views online on Snapchat. Priceless!

Palm Springs Art Museum, 2nd Annual “Community Vision Award” for their leadership bringing the award-winning and innovative new Architecture & Design Center to downtown. The thriving museum celebrates the iconic architecture and design for which Palm Springs is now world famous and is a sensational  jewel of a destination for both residents and visitors enjoy.

In addition, Gloria Ware will be honored as Chamber Ambassador of the Year and outgoing Chamber president James Canfield, executive director of the Palm Springs Convention Center, will turn the President’s Gavel over to Patrick Service of Appetito Deli and Las Casuelas Terraza.
