Shrek the Musical is based on the 2001 DreamWorks Oscar-award winning animated film, Shrek. The Broadway production received twelve Drama Desk Awards, and eight Tony Award nominations. Palm Canyon Theatre’s (PCT) Director of this production, Se Layne states that she hopes (especially during Palm Spring Pride) to spread the message of self-acceptance, individuality and being celebrated. The musical’s anthem “Let Your Freak Flag Fly” is a message of love and acceptance, of not just other people, but of who you are. Shrek the Musical will run October 22 through November 7, 2021 at the Palm Canyon Theatre (PCT), 538 N. Palm Canyon Drive.
