Revolution Stage Company has unveiled an expansive and eclectic Fourth Season, marking another major milestone for the Palm Springs venue that has quickly become one of the region’s most celebrated performing arts destinations. Founded by Gary Powers and James Owens, the theatre has earned its reputation as Palm Springs’ favorite local theatre through a dynamic mix of musicals, plays, cabaret, comedy, and original works—all presented in an intimate, Off‑Broadway‑style setting with comfortable seating, a full liquor bar, and even ice cream.
The upcoming season showcases a wide range of productions, including Sweet Charity, Urinetown, Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, Lucky Stiff, and the West Coast premiere of Merman’s Apprentice, a musical centered on a young girl mentored by Ethel Merman. The season launches in October with Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors, followed by William Mastrosimone’s Extremities in April and Stephen Adly Guirgis’ The Motherfker With the Hat. The company will also present the world premiere of Tim Mulligan’s Pig Butchered, described by the organization as one of the most compelling new works to take the Palm Springs stage.
Beyond its mainstage lineup, Revolution Stage Company continues to expand its cabaret and special event offerings. The season features acclaimed New York cabaret artist Jeff Harnar performing his Cole Porter show, Broadway veteran Teri Ralston with a Sondheim‑themed evening, and the return of Craig Ramsey and Catherine Wreford in Behind the Curtain. Additional programming includes LT Cousineau’s Much Too Gay Cabaret during Pride Week and two performances by the popular vocal group A Cabello.
In the new year, the theatre will once again host its annual Ten‑Minute Play Festival, along with Cabaret Riot and Comedy Riot—competitions designed to spotlight emerging performers and give rising artists the chance to earn their own show at the venue. With more productions yet to be announced, the organization emphasizes its ongoing commitment to elevating local talent while bringing exceptional entertainment to the Coachella Valley.
