Modernism takes center stage this weekend, as the rescheduled and re-imagined week has both virtual and some in-person events.  On the #ILoveGayPalmSprings podcast this week, we detour to talk Modernism-adjacent with Charles Phoenix.  Not only does he have a couple of virtual events on the docket (slide shows are his thing), he also tells us about the Wienermobile in town this weekend. Oh myyy!

We got a private tour of the new “Boozehounds” restaurant/bar/cafe this week from the co-owners of the operation, Jimmy, Bryan and Steve.
While the name pays homage to their four-legged friends and the story is indeed compelling, there’s a bit of a misperception that the restaurant has gone to the dogs. It’s dog-friendly, for sure, but there’s so much more.  We look forward to the opening and have a table reserved for the preview.

Our WCW featured Anne Friedman, executive director of GayForGood.  I met with my fellow Palm Springs chapter leaders (Stephen Burchard, Ellen Wolf, Beth Wexler and Jeff Denean Jones) this week to talk about new service projects that we can safely undertake this Spring.  Watch for details on how you can get involved.

Lastly, we’ve relaunched the AFTER DARK section of GayDesertGuide.LGBT.  We’re listing all bar events and any happy hours happening at our LGBTQ bars and clubs. It’s the one place you can go to find everything happening at our bars as they reopen with increased capacity.
