Positive Life Series Continues

The HIV + Aging Research Project Palm Springs (HARP-PS) presents their monthly Positive Life series on Tuesday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Desert Regional Medical Center. This month’s program: Neva Chaupette will present: “I Take Charge of My Health and HIV.” After a summer hiatus, the series continues:

Sep 3 – HPV disease and the ANCHOR Study, co-presented by DAP & Eisenhower
Oct 1 – How stigma affects people aging with HIV

OUTstanding Voices 2019

On Wednesday, June 5 from 6:00–7:00 p.m. at the Hyatt, Palm Springs Pride will be recognizing the contributions and achievements of eighty-one lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender leaders and allies as OUTstanding Voices from Palm Springs. The list of 81 influential individuals or couples features those who exemplify the spirit of equality and opportunity for all. The 2019 list includes the likes of community volunteers, HIV/AIDS champions, political and social justice activists, renown photographers and artists, community organizers, and business leaders. “Chicago” Singalong with Among Friends

Join Among friends for another great night of sing-a-long with CHICAGO (the 2002 film of the Fosse musical, not the band) on Wednesday, June 5 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. LA Pride Festival June 8–9

The 2019 LA Pride Festival will take place in West Hollywood Park on June 8 & 9, with GRAMMY® Award-winning global superstar Meghan Trainor and British electronic pop trio Years & Years headlining. For the first time, LA Pride and the City of West Hollywood are teaming up to host the first-ever Pride on the Boulevard in West Hollywood, a FREE block party of entertainment, vendors, exhibitors, rides, attractions and more. A new Friday night program on June 7 in West Hollywood Park will serve as the official kick-off to LA Pride Weekend 2019. This free-to-the-public evening will feature an official Opening Ceremony including presentations by community visionaries, spiritual leaders, and other advocates for LA’s LGBTQ+ community, tons of entertainment, including a Weho Vogue Ball & Drag Show, a night of dancing, music from local DJs, and special surprise guests, plus a 60-minute concert by the one and only Paula Abdul! Sacramento Pride

Another big California Pride event takes place this weekend in the state’s capital city with Sacramento Pride on June 8 & 9. With multiple stages and dance tents that will make anyone bust a move, you can expect dozens of entertainers, vendor booths, exhibits, inclusive zones, delicious foods and thousands of others ready to make this year’s SacPride the best. The Sacramento Pride Parade takes place Sunday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. starting at Southside Park and ending at the Capital Mall. More info


Splash House

Splash House features rockin’ pool parties across three hotel resorts from Friday, June 7 through Sunday, June 9 at The Saguaro, the Renaissance, and the Riviera. Broadway’s Big Night at the Tony Awards

The 73rd Annual Tony Award will be held Sunday, June 9 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, hosted by James Corden and broadcast live on CBS. “Hadestown” received 14 nominations, the most of any production of the season, followed by “Ain’t Too Proud” with 12, and “Tootsie” with 11.
