Desert Theatricals has unveiled its 2026/2027 Season—its eighth year of professional musicals and variety entertainment presented in partnership with the City of Rancho Mirage. The organization’s signature Broadway Series returns to the amphitheater with full orchestras, professional casts, and the award‑winning artistic direction of Ray Limon and Joshua Carr. The season opens with Sondheim’s Into the Woods, starring Lizzie Schmelling Sosa and Catrina Teruel, running October 23–25, 2026. The momentum continues with the movie‑musical favorite Sister Act from February 26–28, 2027, followed by the classic Man of La Mancha, featuring Charles Herrera, Jacob Lozano, and Joseph Savant, from April 2–4, 2027.
The Variety Series expands the lineup with national and local talent backed by seven‑piece swing bands. Holiday programming arrives December 12, 2026, with A Cool Yule, celebrating the music of Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald. The Pepsodent Variety Hour takes the stage January 22–23, 2027, offering nostalgic tributes to Bob Hope, Dean Martin, The Andrews Sisters, Abbott & Costello, Fred & Ginger, and more. The series concludes March 6, 2027, with Tony Award nominee Eden Espinosa in An Evening of Broadway.
Desert Theatricals also announced several audience‑experience upgrades. While dinner theatre is no longer offered, premium tables with bottle service are now available in the center of the amphitheater’s first two tiers. Seating has been upgraded to wider, padded chairs, all reserved online—allowing patrons to select seats in advance without waiting in line. Food and beverage options remain available onsite.
