Center Food Drive December 2025

Coachella Valley residents are stepping up once again to fight food insecurity, with December food drives continuing the record-breaking support seen in November.

The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert’s Community Food Bank received nearly 38,000 pounds of food donations last month, the largest amount in its history. Much of this generosity came through independently organized food drives.

At the same time, demand is rising. The Food Bank now distributes food and essential items to more than 500 households weekly, up from 350 households just months ago.

Charles Huff, Director of Food Security at The Center’s Community Food Bank, emphasized the impact of community support:

“Every can and every dollar truly make a difference. With community support, we can help ensure that everyone has access to healthy food this holiday season and beyond.”
