“June is Pride Month, and this year, high desert residents and visitors can look forward to a month-long, multifaceted celebration that showcases the vibrancy and diversity of the local LGBTQ+ community.
Events will include performances, art shows, open mics and parties—all infused with a sense of community.
“Soul is being imbued into this year’s events,” said T. Hammidi, of Joshua Tree, who was one of the initial organizers of Joshua Tree Pride and runs the California Hi-Desert Queer and Trans Oral History Project. “Throughout the high desert, there’s interesting, creative collaborations across generations of LGBTQ+ people.
