The Coachella Valley’s brightest holiday tradition is back! Presented by the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation, WildLights at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens celebrates its 33rd year, transforming the beloved zoo into a shimmering winter wonderland filled with millions of dazzling lights, festive entertainment, and magical holiday experiences for guests of all ages.
Recognized as a Top 10 Event by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for six consecutive years, WildLights continues to be one of the region’s most anticipated seasonal celebrations.
Event Highlights
Visitors can expect an array of enchanting attractions, including:
- Spectacular light displays and walk-through illuminated exhibits
- A towering 30-foot Christmas tree and the G-Scale model train with 3,300 feet of holiday-themed track
- Opportunities to see African animals such as rhinos, giraffes, zebras, and African painted dogs
- Free photos with Santa through December 24, followed by photos with the Grinch from December 26–30
- Nightly holiday music and festive entertainment
- Seasonal dining options, including specialty dinners, treats, beer, wine, and holiday cocktails for guests 21+
- S’mores stations and carousel rides (additional fee)
- Numerous festive selfie and family photo opportunities throughout the park
Guests can also extend their visit with a day-and-night combo ticket, allowing them to explore The Living Desert’s 80 acres of animal habitats and desert gardens during the day, then return at night to enjoy the WildLights experience at a discounted rate.

WildLights runs on select nights from November 25–December 30, 6–9 pm. Special themed evenings include:
