Script2Stage2Screen, the theatrical group that produces staged readings of original works, has confirmed its 2022-23 season, which will open in October. The new plays to be performed are:
“Don’t Vote for Me”, a comedy by Kerr Lockhart (Frederick, MD), to be performed Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22, 2022.
“Widow’s Waltz”, a drama by Denis LaComb (Apple Valley, MN; Coachella Valley), to be performed Friday and Saturday, November 18 and 19, 2022.
“All about Moonbeams”, a musical by June August (Palm Desert, CA), to be performed Friday and Saturday, January 20 and 21, 2023.
“Cozy Murder”, a comedy by Judy Klass (Nashville, TN), to be performed Friday and Saturday, February 24 and 25, 2023.
“Prepping for Widowhood”, a comedy/drama by Rob Dames (Los Angeles, CA), to be performed Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25, 2023.
“After Another”, a comedy by Paul Donnelly (Tallahassee, FL), to be performed Friday and Saturday April 21 and 22, 2023.
“Altruism”, a drama by Germaine Shamas (Tucson, AZ), to be performed Friday and Saturday, May 19 and 20, 2023.
“Room 5 Motel 6”, a comedy by Jason Hull (Palm Springs, CA), to be performed Friday and Saturday June 23 and 24, 2023.
“This S2S2S season promises to surprise and fascinate,” says Steve Fisher, S2S2S Artistic Director. “Overwhelmed by the response from playwrights as far away as Thailand and Germany, our New Works Committee read more than 80 play submissions. From these, eight were chosen for you. We are thrilled to announce three local playwrights, Denis LaComb, June August, and Jason Hull, will share their talents with us.

Auditions for the close to 50 roles available will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Desert, 72425 Via Vail, Rancho Mirage, on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Covid precautions apply.
S2S2S received 28 Desert Star Award nominations from the Desert Theatre League for the five productions mounted in the 2021-22 season.
Script2Stage2Screen is the performing arts project of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Desert (UUCOD), 72425 Via Vail in Rancho Mirage. All staged readings take place at UUCOD at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will remain at $10.
COVID PREVENTION POLICIES
Script2Stage2Screen will follow the Church’s policies on preventing the spread of COVID. Also, Script2Stage2Screen:
1. Will require proof of full vaccination to attend its performances. All cast and crew will be fully vaccinated, and wear masks except when acting.
2. Will ask patrons to register in advance and provide contact information, in order to perform contact tracing if needed.
3. Will require attendees to wear masks.
4. May set up seating to allow social distancing.
5. Will require ticket purchases or RSVPs in advance (www.script2stage2screen.com).
6. Will offer refreshments outdoors in front of the church; to be consumed outside.
