Revivals Stores launched a new collection of locally handmade items by Sewing with Purpose on November 28.  Sewing with Purpose is a DAP group that meets weekly for social interaction while sharing their mutual love of sewing.  The group’s work reflects its members varied backgrounds and skills.  “Some of us are award-winning quilters and award-winning artists,” says group member Jerry Hanson. “All of us sew for the joy of it.”

Included in the new Sewing Hope collection are placemats, table runners, tote bags, holiday stockings, quilts, aprons, pot holders, and teddy bears.

In the past, Sewing with Purpose has created quilts for auction at DAP events. Now they have expanded to making up-cycle items from textiles donated to Revivals. Their handcrafted products will be sold at Revivals under the Sewing Hope label. One hundred percent – 100%- of the sales price funds DAP client services.

Sewing with Purpose is Sewing Hope that their work helps continue the fight against HIV/AIDS here in the Coachella Valley.
