So who got up at 7:00 am to watch the YouTube livestream of Meet the Queens of Season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race? Thank you for asking!! It’s me, your trusty recapper from AllStars Season 3. I’ve been lying fallow but am ready to sprout! (Cue sound of Dante sprouting 🌱 🎶.)

Our season 13 winner, the slim, sizzling and scintillating Symone, is on hand to introduce this season’s fourteen queens. “Trust,” she says, “you ain’t ready!” Oh, I’m ready, sis!

The queens, in alphabetical order, sashay down a runway consisting of claw machines—you know, that arcade game where you extract plushies ‘n prizes with your greedy claws.  (Yes, we’ve all dated her.) 🦞 They’re also known as Pluck-a-Pals. (And yes, we’ve all plucked a pal.) 🐔

So the queens of season 14 are:

Alyssa Hunter, Puerto Rican pageant queen (she lied about her age and won her first at age 16)

Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Atlanta pageant queen

Bosco, hailing from Seattle and named after her dead family dog 🐶

Daya Betty, from Chicago and the House of Methyd, her drag name is a play on her Type 1 diabetes

Deja Skye, Fresno-based drag performer

Jasmine Kennedie, New York City hi-energy diva

Jorgeous, luscious Latina diva from Nashville

June Jambalaya, self-proclaimed Real Housewife of Drag and another southerner

Kerri Colby, from the legendary House of Colby, trans queen and glam goddess

Kornbread “The Snack” Jetė, South Carolina-raised Big Girl, trans queen and Palm Springs regular

Lady Camden, professional ballet dancer originally from UK and “ladylike as f*ck”

Mandy Morphosis, first ever cisgender heterosexual queen, hailing from Arkansas

Orion Story, campy vintage kitty and first drag queen to hail from Michigan (attention Brad Fuhr!)

Willow Pill, Yvie Oddly’s drag sister.  Like Yvie, she has a chronic medical condition, thus her name.
