The seven queens up for elimination from last week’s episode are shook! As Bosco says, “We’re suffering the nuclear fallout that was Snatch Game.” They bombed.

Daya Betty, as usual, is irritated at being in the bottom and resents Jasmine Kennedie and Jorgeous getting another chance. Daya reads them for filth under the protective banner of “No Offense!”. “No offense” is a close cousin of “Just sayin!”. As one Instagrammer said of Daya, “She’s the Karen of drag.”

DeJa Skye is sitting pretty while the queens worry about the format and song choices. Willow Pill is hoping for something campy, while Angeria Paris VanMichaels plans to “park and bark.” DeJa suggests that one format possibility is for Ru to bring back the eliminated queens. The queens seem most stressed about lip syncing against Jorgeous and her “punching the ghost” dance moves.

On the main stage, Ru kicks off the Lip Sync LaLaPaRuZa Smackdown. A new member of the Pit Crew, super hot Calix in his tighty whities, brings in the golden hopper which contains seven balls with the queens’ initials. The first ball is Jasmine, who gets to select her opponent: her nemesis Daya. In a twist, Daya gets to pick the song from a list and opts for “RESPECT” by Aretha Franklin. It’s a smart choice; Jasmine’s dance moves are neutralized and Daya manages to upstage her and snag the win.

The second ball out is Willow, who chooses Bosco because she’s sure what song Bosco will pick. Sure enough, she picks “Never Too Much” by Luther Vandross. Her strategy has paid off and Willow is elated: “It’s the only song I wanted!” Bosco goes sexy, Willow goes smooth, and Willow gets the win.

Next up, Angeria, Jorgeous and Lady Camden face off in a three-way. A ball is drawn which determines that Jorgeous will pick the song. I was SURE she’d pick “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” by Jennifer Lopez but she goes with “Radio” by Beyoncé. From the first note, it was clear to me Jorgeous would win, and she did. No one commands a stage like her. She’s a star.

In the fourth round, Lady Camden lip syncs against Bosco to “Don’t Let Go” by En Vogue. Angeria and Jasmine perform to JLo. Two will be safe, two will be in the bottom, and one will go home. Lady Camden and Angeria slay and will return next week.

This leaves Jasmine to compete against Bosco to “Swept Away” by Diana Ross. It’s very tight and Bosco wins in a close finish, sending Jasmine packing. Her last chance of salvation is the golden candy bar, which so far only produces the anticlimactic line, “It’s chocolate.” Count on it to show up at an unexpected time.

So we finally have an elimination and are down to seven queens. Next week the queens will star in a Ru-sical, “Moulin Ru.” There is NEVER a question whose show this is!

And speaking of fabulous queens, be sure to get out to AMP Sports Lounge in Cathedral City for the finale of the Cat City Drag Contest. A winner will be crowned on Saturday, March 26 as part of LGBT Days. Good luck ladies! And I’ll be back next week with all the latest.
