Last year, Michael Holmes’ Purple Room teamed up with the Palm Springs Animal Shelter to create The Kitten Club – a fundraising effort designed specifically to help the Animal Shelter take care of the influx of newborn kittens that arrive at the Shelter each year during “kitten season.” In six weeks, over $10,000.00 was raised, and this amount was matched by the Western Wind Foundation, for a total of over $20,000.00.
This year, kitten season is once again upon us, and homeless litters of kittens are once again flooding the Shelter. The cost of caring for all these kittens, feeding them, making sure they’re healthy, getting them spayed and neutered, and helping them find forever homes is staggering. That’s why Michael Holmes’ Purple Room and the Palm Springs Animal Shelter are back for a second year, with The Kitten Club Redux, and this year the stakes are even higher. The Western Wind Foundation has upped their match to $15,000.00.
How can you help? Simply visit Michael Holmes’ Purple Room any Wednesday in June, purchase an entree, enjoy the complimentary entertainment, AND make a donation to the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar, and the funds raised will go directly to helping the Palm Springs Animal Shelter take care of this season’s kittens.
