Point of Pride has opened applications for its 2026 Thrive Fund, a national program designed to support trans people with essential gender‑affirming and wellness needs that fall outside traditional healthcare coverage. Open now through August 31, the fund provides up to $2,500 per applicant and has already awarded more than $116,000 to 104 recipients since launching in 2024.
The Thrive Fund addresses critical expenses such as legal fees for name and gender marker changes, fertility preservation, medical tattooing, and vocal therapy—services that are often costly and rarely covered by insurance. With nearly 29.4% of trans people experiencing poverty, many face significant barriers to accessing these aspects of transition. By filling these gaps, the Thrive Fund offers meaningful support and helps trans people move closer to feeling comfortable and affirmed in their bodies and communities.
Executive Director Jeff Main notes that the program was created in response to community need, ensuring trans people can access vital services that contribute to their well‑being and quality of life.
