Modern Men Stage

Modern Men: Coachella Valley Men’s Chorus has received a significant boost to its artistic and community‑driven mission thanks to a $50,000 grant from The Thomas L. Pearson and The Pearson Family Members Foundation. The award honors chorus member David L. Pearson for his longstanding commitment, leadership, and contributions to the ensemble.

The announcement was made during the chorus’ sold‑out holiday performance of Cool Yule at the historic Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs, where Modern Men serves as ensemble‑in‑residence. The grant underscores the Foundation’s belief in the power of arts organizations to strengthen community bonds and elevate cultural vitality across the region.

Greg Chrzczon, Board President of Modern Men, emphasized the significance of the award, noting that it “distinctly connects the Foundation’s philanthropic vision with our artistic mission, enabling us to inspire and unite even more voices in the Coachella Valley.”

The funds will support the chorus’ programmatic goals, including expanded outreach initiatives, diverse artistic programming, and deeper community engagement. As the largest choral group in the Coachella Valley, Modern Men continues to play a vital role in regional arts leadership, diversity, and education.

Thomas L. Pearson, Founder and Chairman of the Foundation, reflected on the family’s philanthropic philosophy, stating that their resources are intended “for the benefit of others,” and praising Modern Men for its “responsible stewardship of talent in service of the broader community.”

Timothy R. Pearson, President and CEO, added that effective philanthropy is measured by meaningful outcomes. He noted that the grant will help advance the chorus’ priorities in educational outreach and inclusivity, ensuring that the transformative power of music continues to reach new audiences.
