It’s almost November, and that means it’s time for Palm Springs Pride, as it makes a colorful return from November 1–7, 2021, the first full-scale Pride event of this size in California since before the COVID pandemic. With the festival and performances occurring in outdoor venues, the LGBTQ+ community and its allies will be welcomed to Palm Springs for a safe, joyous celebration of community. The worldwide theme for Pride this year is “You Are Included.”

The open-air street festival will take place between Amado and Tahquitz on Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs’ “main drag” downtown, and will include the surrounding area with the new downtown city park at Museum Way and Belardo, and the new installation of “Forever Marilyn.” There will be open-air beverage lounges, food vendors, community resources, a festival marketplace, T-Mobile Youth Zone, and a Children’s Garden, and free health resources like HIV testing, and even COVID testing and vaccination. Weekend hosts include Bella da Ball, Jason Stuart, Shann Carr, and Scott Nevins.
Main Stage performances include Shannon, The Perry Twins, and headliner Jody Watley on Friday night Nov. 5, Beth Sacks and headliner Third Eye Blind on Saturday night Nov. 6, and wrapping it all up on Sunday, Nov. 7 is headliner A Flock of Seagulls. The main stage and three others are packed with performances throughout the weekend from acts as varied as the Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus, Cheer LA, Drag performances, comedy acts, vocalists of local and international acclaim, and more. See below for the full lineup details.
Arenas Road, home to gay shopping and nightlife, just steps from Palm Canyon Drive, will have its own stage with DJ’s spinning to keep you dancing in the streets, while you gather your friends for a selfie on the newly-painted rainbow crosswalks at either end of the block party.
The centerpiece event of the Pride celebration is of course the Pride Parade on Sunday morning, which steps off at 10:00 a.m., on Sunday, November 7, in the Uptown Design District on N. Palm Canyon Drive at E. Tachevah Drive and travels south to downtown ending at the entrance to the Pride Festival. Enjoy emcee commentary as parade contingents move along Palm Canyon Dr. and pass by official reviewing stands. The Parade usually lasts two hours and is a free event. This year will welcome the thunderous roar of San Francisco’s Dykes on Bikes Women’s Motorcycle Contingent for the first time, and there will be a special parade contingent to highlight the 71 countries that outlaw same-sex relations between consenting adults. The parade will also feature a significant youth contingent, made up of Gay-Straight Alliance organizations from around the region, and high school marching bands. Unique entries in the Parade include LGBTQ supportive businesses, organizations like Brothers of the Desert, PFLAG, Free Mom Hugs, DAP Health, Palm Springs city council members, employees, and the Human Rights Commission.

In the days leading up to Palm Springs Pride, the community is invited to show their spirit and support of all-inclusive love by participating in the “Light Up the Night” display and contest, presented by Alaska Airlines and sponsored by KGAY 106.5 Palm Springs, Gay Desert Guide and VACAYA LGBT+ Vacations. Using pink and rainbow lights, participants will decorate their homes to celebrate Pride and demonstrate a commitment to breaking down barriers of discrimination and hate. These glowing displays will be entered in a contest to win a Caribbean cruise courtesy of VACAYA LGBT+ Vacations, with air travel for two on Alaska Airlines. Businesses will also be showing their support for Pride with a window decorating contest.
In addition to the downtown street festival and the Sunday parade, a variety of official Palm Springs Pride events take place over the days leading up to the weekend and into the weekend, including:
