Walk of the Stars Palm Springs will honor master pianist, composer, producer, and vocalist Mikael Healey with the 450th Star on the Walk of the Stars Palm Springs. The Star will be unveiled on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at 100 South Palm Canyon Drive. The Star Dedication Ceremony is open to the public.

“Mikael is a consummate musician and entertainer, and nobody does more to keep the spirit of “Old Palm Springs” alive at Melvyn’s than he does. The Sunday Jam is an institution, and Mikael is the cornerstone of that. It is truly overdue that we honor him with this Star on the Walk of the Stars!” said Patrick Evans.

He began his musical studies at age 5 and vocal training in his teens. Early in his career, Mikael worked and appeared in musical theatre productions. As a composer he worked with Blake Edwards in developing musical concepts for television pilots. Mikael produced, arranged, and performed the last sessions for/with the legendary “Papa” John Philips (The Mamas & the Papas). He has performed worldwide including Las Vegas, Europe, and beyond. Mikael has performed at The Melvyn’s Sunday Jam since 2007.

A long-time resident of Palm Springs, Mikael has shared his talents by playing at various valley entertainment scenes and supports new performers in the area. He also shows his support in the community with fundraising for “Angel View” and “Safe House”. Healey has won the prestigious “Kings Prize” from The National Theatre in Oslo Norway and has a total of seven recorded CD’s.

“We at Melvyn’s are incredibly proud of Mikael Healy’s well-deserved honor of a Star on Walk of the Stars Palm Springs.  Mikael joins the late Mr. Melvyn Haber in this honor.  As Music Director of Melvyn’s, Mikael’s talent, his colorful history, and experience define what makes Melvyn’s unique and a Palm Springs institution.” said Matt Shough.
