“The Palm Springs Art Museum had a successful year in 2023 and, according to Executive Director and CEO Adam Lerner, the institution’s foot traffic was 50% higher compared to pre-pandemic levels.
Lerner attributes this growth due to the increased tourism in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. Museum visitors are now younger and more diverse, and leadership has noticed this during its free Thursday nights — hence why there are now DJs included in the Thursday night programming and more contemporary exhibitions throughout the year, such as local artist Phillip K.
