Held in partnership with Los Angeles Modern Auctions (LAMA), P.S. An Art Auction is a fundraiser that focuses on works that are representative of the Museum’s collecting strengths in the areas of architecture, design, contemporary art, photography and video, and western art. Well-known artists, galleries, museum patrons and collectors donate their works with proceeds benefiting the Museum’s exhibitions, and educational and public programs.

Attendees at the Mardi Gras-themed event will have the opportunity to preview nearly 70 works of art ranging from abstract paintings, color lithographs and bronze sculptures to blown glass, hand bags, modern décor, and jewelry, among others.
The evening includes French Quarter Cuisine by Eight4Nine Restaurant and Lounge and signature cocktails by Bootlegger Tiki. Entertainment includes jumping jazz by the Gand Band, plus a fine art opportunity drawing for attendees.
The live Modern Art & Design Auction will be held, Sunday, March 5 at the LAMA headquarters in Van Nuys with a special live feed being shown in the Museum’s lecture hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We thank LAMA for hosting this special benefit auction for Palm Springs Art Museum,” said Elizabeth Armstrong, The JoAnn McGrath Executive Director of Palm Springs Art Museum. “We are extremely grateful, likewise, to the collectors and patrons who generously donated outstanding artworks to this auction. Their gifts are a great opportunity to buy unique art while raising vital support for the Museum.”
Tickets for the preview party on February 28 are $100 for the general public and $75 for Architecture and Design, Contemporary Art, Photography Collection and Western Art Councils.
