As part of Modernism Week’s Fall Preview, Palm Springs Art Museum Architecture and Design Center is hosting Fall in Love with Frey on Sunday, October 22, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Albert Frey was one of the founding fathers of midcentury modern architecture in Palm Springs. His iconic Frey House II is one of the best examples of modern architecture, and the crown jewel of Palm Springs Art Museum’s architecture and design holdings. Frey bequeathed the house and contents to the Museum upon his death in 1998, and for many years the Museum has offered tours during Modernism Week.

This unique event, which is open to the public, includes special access to the Albert Frey and Lina Bo Bardi: A Search for Living Architecture exhibition, private interior and exterior tours of the Frey House II, music from Frey’s personal record collection, a Frey House II photo booth, plus signature cocktails and bites all celebrating Frey and his architectural legacy. A shuttle will run from the A+D Center to Frey House II throughout the evening.

“The Frey House II is an amazing site and the event is complemented by the Albert Frey and Lina Bo Bardi: A Search for Living Architecture exhibition at the A+D Center, this is a unique opportunity for people to literally immerse themselves in Frey’s world,” said Michael Hinkle, Managing Director of Architecture and Design Center.

Fall in Love with Frey is being presented in collaboration with the Swiss Consulate General of Los Angeles. Tickets are $125 for members and $175 for non-members and available exclusively online at modernismweek.com

Funds raised from this event will help support the ongoing restoration and operations of Frey House II. Generous support provided by the Consulate General of Switzerland – Los Angeles, Montalba Architects, Caesarstone, Geoffrey De Sousa and José Manuel Alorda, SHAG – the Store, DJ Baz, and Eight4Nine Restaurant.
