Modernism Week, the annual festival that highlights midcentury modern architecture, art, interior and landscape design, and vintage culture in the Palm Springs area of Southern California, has added five new events to its schedule, including a Modernism Week Featured Home Tour. More than 350 events are being offered during the 11-days of the festival, which runs February 17-27. Tickets are now on sale at These newly added events include:

New Modernism Week Featured Home Tour: Maison Bleue Moderne (2/18, 2/19, 2/20, 2/25, 2/26, and 2/27, $35) This artfully redesigned property in the Vista las Palmas neighborhood of Palm Springs features original William Krisel architecture built by the Alexander Company in the 1950s.  Inspired by the owners’ colorful personalities and passion for sailing and travel, designer Michelle Boudreau seamlessly merged materials and new spaces with modern technology while respecting the existing midcentury cherished design details. Recent renovations utilized brands such as Dunn-Edwards Paints, Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting, Hunter Douglas, and Outer to create a poetic home that embraces the Palm Springs lifestyle.

Modernism Week Featured Home Tour: Seventies Sackley (2/18 – 2/20; $35) This architectural home tour in the Indian Canyons neighborhood will allow participants to experience a seamless blend of contemporary furnishings and vintage pieces on display at this stunning 1975 Palm Springs residence designed by noted architect Stan Sackley and reimagined by interior designers Michael Ostrow and Roger Stoker of Grace Home Furnishings. Sited on a nearly quarter acre lot, the 3,044 square foot home contains three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a beautiful saltwater pool and spa. The home’s recent renovations utilized brands such as Bang & Olufsen, Brizo, California Closets, Dunn-Edwards Paints, Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting, JennAir, Semihandmade,Thibaut and Willis to create a fun yet sophisticated atmosphere.

A Glamorous Evening with Nelda Linsk from “Poolside Gossip” (2/19, $75) Join Nelda Linsk in conversation as she takes us back to 1970s Palm Springs when iconic photographer Slim Aarons captured her in the famous “Poolside Gossip” photograph. The event includes a Q&A. Be the first to experience a special collaboration between Dunn-Edwards and Grace Home Furnishings – a curated paint color collection inspired by the city of Palm Springs and “Poolside Gossip.” Hors d’oeuvres and drinks are included with purchase of a ticket.

007 Cocktail Party – A Night for Preservation (2/19, $225) Clink your cocktail glasses for a glitzy James Bond themed cocktail party and tour the spectacular Dinah Shore residence by legendary architect Donald Wexler.  Don your finest cocktail attire, indulge in clandestine bites, spectacular libations, and mingle on the grounds of this sprawling Old Las Palmas Estate with fellow design enthusiasts and influencers while the piano keys play the night away. The event is produced by Save Iconic Architecture that puts a spotlight on the importance of mindful preservation and celebrating our important architectural history.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit Palm Springs preservation efforts.

The Glass House in Color: Coloring Midcentury Modern Architecture (2/22, $12) The iconic Glass House is Philip Johnson’s visionary midcentury glass-and-steel home in New Canaan, Connecticut. Glass House Deputy Director Scott Drevnig joins up with coloring book Illustrator David Wallace Crotty for a fun discussion on the Glass House and how to translate a midcentury modern home into coloring book form. A book signing will immediately following this presentation.
