The City of Palm Springs is bringing back its popular “Love Local Palm Springs” bonus digital gift card program, offering residents and visitors increased buying power at unique local businesses this summer.
Beginning July 7, consumers can purchase Love Local Palm Springs digital gift cards in denominations of $100, $200, and $300, with the City contributing an additional 50 percent of the card’s value. For example, a $100 card will provide $150 in local spending power at participating businesses. While bonus funds expire on October 31, 2025, the original purchased gift card amount never expires. Bonus funds will not be earned until July 7, when the program officially begins.
Wayne Olson, the City’s Chief Economic Development Officer, highlighted the long-term goal of the initiative. “Long-term growth means becoming a true year-round city,” Olson stated. “We know summer can be tough for local businesses. Encouraging everyone to shop and dine local is one way we can say ‘thank you’ to our favorite local spots.”
Mayor Ron deHarte echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the community aspect. “Our local businesses are the heart of our community, and deserve our support, especially during the slower months,” said Mayor deHarte. “This program is a great way to rally around them, keep dollars in our neighborhoods, and remind everyone that shopping local makes a real difference.”
The limited-time program allows consumers to support over 100 participating Palm Springs businesses, ranging from restaurants and coffee shops to bookstores, bakeries, hotels, theaters, spas, and more.
Local business owners interested in participating in the program can contact Dawn Grubl, Business District Administrator with the Office of Economic Development, at DGrubl@palmspringsca.gov.
