Los Tigres del Norte skyrocketed to fame with the release of "Contrabando y traición" ("Contraband and Betrayal") in 1974 and this generational family affair based in San Jose, Calif., hasn’t slowed down since. Now, Los Tigres del Norte are set to bring their distinguished música norteña to The Show at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa for a performance that coincides with Día de la Independencia (Mexico’s Independence Day) on September 16, 2017, at 8:00 p.m.
Los Tigres del Norte was formed in Rosa Morada, Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico, in 1968 when Jorge Hernandez convinced his brothers Raul and Hernán and their cousin Oscar to form a band. In a career that soon brought them to settle in San Jose, Calif., and has spanned the decades since, Los Tigres del Norte has sold well over 30 million records and has amassed a collection of Grammy Awards, Latin Grammy Awards, and a Special Recognition Award at the 26th annual GLAAD Media Awards in 2015, for their song "Era Diferente" ("She Was Different").
Billboard magazine has placed Los Tigres del Norte among "The 30 Most Influential Latin Artists of All Time.” They have recorded to date more than 55 albums, with more than 700 songs, including 140 Platinum discs, 135 Gold and one Diamond, and have been nominated 15 times for Grammy Awards. Parallel to their music activities, the group founded the Los Tigres del Norte Foundation headquartered on the campus of UCLA, which is aimed at contributing to the appreciation and preservation of Mexican tradition in the United States.
Celebrate in the tradition of Día de la Independencia with Los Tigres del Norte in a not to be missed performance at Southern California’s premier concert theater, The Show at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa, on September 16 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available online at HotWaterCasino.com or by calling (800) 585-3737.
