“A new art installation at Sunnylands Center and Gardens in Rancho Mirage is captivating visitors by blending art, agriculture, and sustainability. Titled The Living Pyramid, this striking piece is part of DesertX 2025, an outdoor art exhibit celebrating the unique beauty of the Coachella Valley.
Created by renowned 94-year-old artist Agnes Denes, The Living Pyramid showcases rows of plants forming a towering structure that reaches toward the desert sky while being firmly rooted in the historic lawn of Sunnylands. The artwork reflects the cycle of life and death, as the plants grow, bloom, and eventually wither.
