The Berkeley Center for the Advanced Study of Aging Services has announced the launch of a statewide focus group project aimed at understanding the needs and experiences of mid-life and older LGBTQIA+ and same-gender-loving residents. This groundbreaking initiative is the first of its kind in California and will provide valuable insights into the unique challenges and aspirations of this often overlooked population.
The project is a collaboration between the Berkeley Center for the Advanced Study of Aging Services, the Mizell Center, and other leading research institutions and LGBTQIA+ same-gender-loving community-based organizations. The goal of the project is to shed light on the unique challenges, aspirations, and contributions of the LGBTQIA+ and same-gender-loving community, and to use this information to inform the development of resources, services, and policies that better support the well-being and rights of this population.
Participants in the focus group will receive a $50 gift card for their time and participation. The focus groups will be held on August 27th at the Mizell Center.
