The holiday season in Palm Springs is about to get a little brighterโ€”and a lot more star-studded. NSYNCโ€™s Lance Bass has been announced as the celebrity tree lighter for the Palm Springs Aerial Tramwayโ€™s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, taking place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Tramwayโ€™s Mountain Station.

The event kicks off at 5:30 pm with a festive performance by the Palm Springs High School Madrigal Choir, setting the tone with holiday classics. Following the performance, Bass will illuminate the Tramwayโ€™s iconic 45-foot holiday tree, adorned with more than 4,000 LED lightsโ€”a dazzling display visible across the Coachella Valley.

From Pop Stardom to Holiday Spirit

Lance Bass rose to fame as one-fifth of NSYNC, the chart-topping boy band that helped define early 2000s pop music. With over 70 million records sold, multiple awards, and the record-breaking album No Strings Attached, Bass remains a beloved figure in entertainment. In 2023, NSYNC reunited for the single Better Place, which debuted at #1 on iTunes.

Beyond music, Bass has made his mark as a producer, podcast host, and co-owner of a top West Hollywood venue. Heโ€™s also a New York Times Best-Selling author, thanks to his childrenโ€™s book Trick or Treat on Scary Street, inspired by his twins, Violet and Alexander, whom he shares with husband Michael Turchin.

A Voice for Community and Change

Bass is a dedicated LGBTQ+ advocate, a philanthropist, and a board member of the Environmental Media Association. Heโ€™s also active in diabetes awareness, using his platform to educate and inspire.

The tree lighting ceremony is open to the public and included with regular Tram admission. For more information about the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, visit www.pstramway.com.
