If there is one video that deserves to go viral this week, it’s the one I’m going to highlight today. No, it’s not a crypto get-rich-quick scheme endorsed by a millennial who purportedly made millions over night.
It’s not a cute dog seemingly reading Shakespeare in an AI-generated scene. There’s no “swipe up and save 30% with my code”. It’s not even a celebrity we know and love in a seemingly raw moment.
Instead, it’s a video about being grateful as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday. And the gratefulness comes from serving others, not because he has much in his life to be grateful for.
“He” is Charles Huff, director of food security for the LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert. After the last car had driven away from their Thanksgiving food distribution at 7:32 pm Thursday night, Charles shared an emotional reel having served over 530 households.

And our own DJ Galaxy (Vincent Corrales) will do his part next week as he spearheads an army of volunteers to make and deliver nearly 300 meals for Thanksgiving. John Taylor will be doing his Thursday morning show on KGAY Palm Springs from DJ Galaxy’s kitchen. (By the way, you can donate to the cause via GoFundMe here.)
While our “exalted ruler” has opulent Flapper parties at Mar-A-Lago, food insecurity remains a huge issue in the United States. As we approach Thanksgiving, our thoughts turn to those who will not have a hot meal on the table, our homeless population and those who a trapped in a low income spiral created by the rich. The story is documented by Ted Koppel for 60 Minutes and is inextricably tied to food insecurity.
Let’s do our part to help those less fortunate and continue to fight for their right to have a place at the table – both proverbial and literal.
