Desert Ensemble Theatre (DET) will host the fourth and final installment of its signature benefit gala, Singing With the Desert Stars IV, on Friday, October 10 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. With only 130 seats available, tickets are expected to sell out quickly for this one-night-only celebration of music, mentorship, and community.

The event marks a milestone in DET’s 15th and final season, closing out a legacy of arts education and performance that began in 2011. Proceeds from the evening support DET’s Technical Theatre Internship and Scholarship Program, which has awarded $39,250 to local high school students pursuing higher education. A final round of scholarships will be distributed in May 2026.

Sponsored by David Hood and George Sellers, the gala features a fast-paced singing competition in which professional performers mentor local community leaders to deliver a polished musical number. The audience will vote to determine the winner. All tickets include access to pre- and post-show receptions.

This year’s vocal coaches include Broadway veterans Tim Ewing and Leslie Tinnaro; local musical theatre standout Tod Macofsky; and acclaimed Desert performers Darci Daniels, Bonnie G, and Kim Schroeder Long.
