Movie of the month for August 2026: Diamantino (2018)

Lights, camera, queerness! Queer Eyes Cinema Club is a monthly gathering hosted by The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, meeting every 4th Saturday at Festival Theaters to bring LGBTQ+ films to the big screen and into community. Each session features about 90 minutes of queer cinema spanning different decades, centering intersectional stories across race, ethnicity, and culture. After the screening, attendees are invited to stick around for an open discussion and share reflections. Curated with younger adults in mind—but welcoming all ages—the program is perfect for film buffs, casual viewers, and anyone who just loves popcorn. The series is hosted by Esther Schwartz, Film Analyst and Scholar and member of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies.
