Blessed with โ€œpoetic and sensitive pianismโ€ (Washington Post) and a โ€œwondrous sense of colorโ€ (San Francisco Classical Voice), Grammy-nominated pianist Joyce Yang captivates audiences with her virtuosity, lyricism,ย and interpretive sensitivity. Sheย firstย came to international attention in 2005ย when she won the silver medal at the 12thย Van Cliburn Internationalย Pianoย Competition.ย The youngest contestant at 19 years old, sheย took home two additional awards:ย Best Performance of Chamberย Music (with the Takร cs Quartet), andย Best Performance of a New Work.

She brings not only technical brilliance and powerful artistry to the stage, but also a profound sense of connection to her audience.

Pianistย Chih-Yi Chen'sย versatile qualities as a collaborative partner, chamber musician, soloist and teacher have contributed to a distinguished career, nationally and internationally. Sheย has been on the faculty of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music since 2003 and is the Associate Chair of the Chamber and Collaborative Music Department, inaugurated in 2016. HerRecent solo appearances include Gershwinโ€™s โ€œRhapsody in Blueโ€ and Stephen Paulusโ€™s piano concerto with the IU Wind Ensemble.
