The Palm Springs Cultural Center presents the world premiere of ICED โ Frozen Borders, Burning Hope, a gripping new dark comedy from local playwright and director Patricia WestโDel Ruth. This haunting, imaginative work follows the disappearance of a young Honduran asylum seeker from a McAllen, Texas detention center, forcing her guard to confront the moral cost of complicity within a broken system. Blending mythology, sharp humor, and raw emotional truth, the play delivers an unforgettable journey into the depths of human connection and conscience.
Inspired by the cinematic worlds of Quentin Tarantino and Guillermo Del Toro, ICED brings together an extraordinary ensemble of acclaimed Coachella Valley performers, including Judith Chapman, Yo Younger, Bryanna Mendez, Charles Herrera, Tom Grissinger, Phylicia Mason, Brian Newkirk, Sarah Elizabeth Woolsey, Rebecca Rodriguez, and Lou Galvan. With atmospheric lighting and special effects by Nick Wass, the production promises a bold, thoughtโprovoking evening of storytelling that challenges, entertains, and lingers long after the final moment. Performances run April 2โ4 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center.
