Pet lovers across the Coachella Valley have a chance to put their furry, feathered, or scaly companions in the spotlight as Greater Palm Springs Animal Allies launches the Pet Star 2027 Photo Contest, running August 15–September 30, 2026. This annual online fundraiser invites the community to celebrate their pets while supporting vital animal‑welfare programs at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, Desert Wildlife Center, and Desert Community Animal Center.
Participants can submit their favorite pet photos for a $25 entry fee in any of five categories—Dog, Cat, Small Pet, Bird, or Exotic. There’s no limit to how many pets you can enter, and once your pet’s photo is live, you can rally friends, family, coworkers, and fellow animal lovers to vote. Each vote costs $1 (minimum of five votes), and supporters can vote as often as they wish. Every entry and every vote directly benefits the lifesaving work GPS Animal Allies provides throughout the region.
The pet receiving the highest number of votes will earn the coveted title of 2027 Pet Star Champion and appear on the cover of the Pet Star 2027 calendar. All other top‑ranking pets will be featured inside the calendar, making it a cherished keepsake for animal lovers.
Entrants can also make their pet’s moment even more special by preordering a Pet Star 2027 calendar—earning bonus votes in the process—or reserving meaningful calendar dates for their pet’s photo, such as birthdays, adoption anniversaries, or “gotcha days,” for just $20 per date.
