Established in 2022, this non-profit organization is dedicated to showcasing powerful LGBTQ+ narratives through live performances and artistic storytelling. As the only LGBTQ+ theater in the Coachella Valley, THE BENT is a cornerstone of queer culture, attracting audiences from across Palm Springs and beyond.
Founded by Artistic Director Steve Rosenbaum and Managing Director Terry Ray, THE BENT is known for its commitment to authentic LGBTQ+ representation. Notable productions by THE BENT include Terry Ray’s critically acclaimed “The Lincoln Debate,” exploring the unique relationship between Abraham Lincoln and Joshua Speed, and “F**king Men,” a modern reimagining of Schnitzler’s classic “La Ronde.” In 2024, THE BENT welcomed Academy Award® Nominee Cathy Moriarty to the stage in “I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat With Sue Mengers.”
