Sunnylands, a 200-acre midcentury modern estate, opened to the public in March 2012 as a high-level retreat center, welcoming national and international leaders for meetings that address serious issues facing the nation and the world. Public tours of the historic 1966 estate are offered when retreats are not in session. For tour and ticket information, see Sunnylands.org/tours.

The contemporary Sunnylands Center & Gardens is a public cultural center that features art exhibitions, film, multi-media stations, café, gift shop, and nine acres of beautiful and environmentally sustainable desert gardens. No pets. No smoking.

Tickets for Sunnylands tours go on sale on the 15th of each month, as they release monthly blocks of tickets on the 15th for the following month’s visits, available only online at Sunnylands.org For Modernism Week events (Feb 12-22, 2026), some special tours like ‘The Marquee’ have separate tickets on sale now, but general Sunnylands house tours follow the standard monthly release schedule. 
How to Get Your Tickets:

  1. Visit: Sunnylands.
  2. Wait: Be online by 9 a.m. PT on January 15, 2026, for February tickets.
  3. Book: Purchase online only (no phone/in-person sales). 

Key Things to Remember:

  • Tickets sell out fast, so be ready.
  • You must be at least 10 years old to tour the historic house.
  • You can visit the Gardens and Center for free, but tours require tickets.
