History of Alcazar Palm Springs
Know your past…
Our home was originally constructed in 1924 during the Spanish Colonial Revival period and became known as “Dr. Reid’s Solarium.” With its majestic views of the San Jacinto Mountains and the healing properties of the desert sun Dr. Reid promoted his solarium as a desert oasis for wellness and relaxation. Sometime in the 1950’s it was transformed into The Pepper Tree Inn. The Pepper Tree continued to be a popular destination offering person to person hospitality for over 60 years. In 2010 it was purchased by Palm Springs native Tara Lazar and reopened in 2011 as ALCAZAR (Spanish Fortress.) Palm Springs.
