Heading into Season 17, Dezart Performs www.dezartperforms.org, has secured 26 nominations for the 38th annual Desert Star Awardshonoring theatrical performers in the Coachella Valley and High Desert communities for the 2023-2024 season. Winners will be announced by the Desert Theatre League October 20th in a live ceremony at Sun City Palm Desert.
All four of Dezart Performs 2023-2024 productions were nominated in multiple categories: THE THANKSGIVING PLAY received five nominations, WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME received four, A CASE FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD receivedeight and MR. PARKER receivednine.
All four of Dezart Performs’ productions were nominated in the outstanding professional production categories. In addition, there are two nominations in the professional director category, 10 nominations for outstanding actor/actress and supporting actor/actress categories, and 10 nominations in several technical categories.
