Coachella Valley Repertory (CVRep) reopened its theatre with its first play of the 2021-22 Season, Bakersfield Mist. Amid rave reviews and high patron demand, CVRep will be rescheduling all of this week’s performances of its run of Bakersfield Mist, after a cast/crew member tested positive for COVID. CVRep is mandating a 14-day isolation period for the entire production team. Bakersfield Mist will conclude its run from December 7, 2021 through December 12, 2021.

The November 14, 2021 matinee was cancelled when a cast/crew member tested positive for covid.

Because CVRep had stringent protocols in place for covid safety, no patron, team member or volunteer was potentially exposed to the infected person.

Prior to reopening, a detailed safety plan was created. It included separate entrances for cast/crew, routine twice-weekly covid testing for the production team and full vaccination verification of anyone entering the Playhouse. “While this is disappointing for CVRep from so many perspectives, we are heartened that our cast/crew member’s symptoms are mild and that with full vaccination, full recovery should be quick.  We are also pleased that our strict COVID safety protocols have worked well and we have avoided any additional potential exposure for our cast/crew, team members, volunteers, and patrons.  Safety will always be our highest priority and our diligence and attention to detail has proven itself,” said Michael Monachino, CVRep’s Board President.

Bakersfield Mist will return to the stage on December 7, 2021 with a 7:30 pm curtain time. Patrons holding tickets to the postponed performances are being contacted to ensure seamless ticketing. Tickets are available for the upcoming run of December 7-12, 2021. For tickets visit cvrep.org, or call the box office at (760) 296-2966, extension 115
