“Opened in 2023 in downtown Palm Springs, the Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza is a six-acre complex occupying a sacred hot mineral spring site of the Agua Caliente band of Cahuilla Indians. Its 48,000-square-foot museum is the central attraction, designed with a curved façade and textures inspired by traditional Cahuilla basketmaking. Its galleries showcase ancient artifacts and both traditional and contemporary Native art. Outside you’ll find the Gathering Plaza and Oasis Trail, an outdoor exhibition landscaped with native plants, rock formations, and water features inspired by ancestral lands like the Agua Caliente Indian Canyons and Tahquitz Canyon nearby.
