The Coachella Valley LGBTQ+ Hockey Association is proud to present the first-ever Greater Palm Springs International LGBT Hockey Tournament to be held on March 23–26, 2023 at Acrisure Arena, Berger Foundation Iceplex in Palm Desert. Teams from all over North America will participate in this one-of-a-kind event to showcase that hockey is for everyone and bring athletes to our beautiful, thriving community for a weekend of fun and friendship.
The tournament is presented by our very own Coachella Valley Firebirds American Hockey League professional team and will feature two teams from the local area, the Coachella Valley Roadrunners, sponsored by Hunters Nightclub and the Coachella Valley Coyotes, sponsored by The Barracks. The event is also very proud to welcome a national Trans Team that will be participating in the tournament. Events are planned for each day including a welcome night on Thursday, March 23rd at Hunters Nightclub in Palm Springs and a tournament celebration party at the Barracks on Saturday, March 25. The Coachella Valley LGBTQ+ Hockey Association is a not-for-profit group whose mission is to introduce hockey to the LGBTQ+ community and enjoy the great game of hockey in a safe and inclusive space. It is also committed to being a resource for other hockey leagues or teams to help educate players, coaches and parents while also challenging homophobia and transphobia and ensure that hockey truly is for everyone.
