Boo2Bullying is bringing its signature blend of empowerment, entertainment, and community spirit back to Sunrise Park for the third annual “Kick Bullying to the Curb” wellness festival and celebrity kickball tournament. Held on Saturday, October 11 from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Power Stadium (1901 E. Baristo Road), the free event coincides with National Coming Out Day, amplifying its message of inclusion, mental health awareness, and youth support.
The festival kicks off with family-friendly activities hosted by Boo2Bullying and its community partners, including face painting, a live DJ, and a “Petting Zoo and Cool Critters” show courtesy of the Mobile Zoo of Southern California. Guests will enjoy complimentary hot dogs, nachos, lemonade, and more—all while engaging with local organizations committed to building safer, more compassionate communities.
At 6:00 p.m., the energy shifts to the kickball field, where two teams led by local champions Shaka Gray (Team Palm Springs) and Connie Golds (Team Coachella) face off in a spirited match. The game will be launched with a live performance of the national anthem by Steve Knill, Palm Springs native and fan favorite from Season 17 of The Voice.
“This event is more than a game—it’s a movement,” said Dimitri Halkidis, founder of Boo2Bullying. “We’re here to show every child and every family that they deserve a safe, welcoming environment. And what better day to celebrate that message than National Coming Out Day.”
Founded in 2011, Boo2Bullying has grown into a nationally recognized nonprofit offering school programs, mentorship, and digital outreach to thousands of youth each year. Its mission: to give young people the tools to speak up, stand strong, and build inclusive communities free from bullying and discrimination.
Palm Springs Mayor Ron DeHarte praised the event’s impact: “Palm Springs is proud to support Boo2Bullying and this joyful festival. Events like these remind us of the power of coming together as one community—diverse, inclusive, and strong.”
Admission, food, and parking are all free, but advance registration is encouraged at boo2bullying.org/event/3rd-annual-kick-bullying-to-the-curb.
Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines or kicking for a cause, this is one Palm Springs event where kindness wins every time.
