In this dog-eat-dog world, take a break, grab your favorite furry friend, and cool off at The Westin Mission Hills’ Yappy Hour and adopted dog “reunion” event from 4-6 p.m. on Aug. 25. The complementary special event celebrates the hotel’s partnership with Animal Samaritans animal shelter and the successful adoption of 86 dogs.
“Through our partnership with Animal Samaritans we host an adoptable dog in our lobby. The dogs live in a fancy dog house while they await the opportunity to find their forever home. Usually, that home is found within just a few days as these sweet pups and our guests interact,” said Tom Scaramellino, General Manager of the Westin Mission Hills. “We have been operating this program for a little more than two years and we are thrilled to host this annual reunion event.”
All dogs and their owners are invited to attend, with doggie-VIP status granted to dogs who were adopted through the Adopt-a-Pet program. The Westin Mission Hills is a dog-friendly hotel that caters to canine guests year-round with a special Patio Pooch Menu and Heavenly™ Dog Beds available during their stay.
At the Yappy Hour on August 25th, human guests will enjoy a howlin’ good time with drink specials like the Regal Beagle (whisky, peach schnapps and sweet and sour) or the Frisky Chihuahua (hot-spiced Margarita). Four-legged partygoers will enjoy haute hound cuisine from the Patio Pooch Menu with nibbles like doggy Crudo, Canine Chicken Casserole and a sweet peanut butter and banana cookie. No bones about it, your pup will be begging for a doggy bag.

All dogs will receive a free dog toy. A representative from Animal Samaritans will speak at the event. Information on how you might adopt through The Westin will be available. Local canine-related vendors will round out the event with information booths about their goods and services.
