At the City Council meeting on Thursday, May 21st the City Council gave the OK to allow the Palm Springs Public Library to begin offering materials to be reserved and picked up at the Library. Naming this service Library-A-Go-Go the Library will allow card holders to reserve up to five (5) items at a time. Patrons will need to go online and log into their account to place holds or call the Library Monday through Thursday from 10AM – 6PM and staff can assist. Once holds are ready, the Library staff will call and set a pick-up appointment time on Mon. – Thurs. between 10AM – 5:30PM. Once patrons arrive for their appointment, we ask that they please stay in their car and call the Library 760-322-7323—having their Library card number ready when they call. Their materials will be checked-out and staff will put them on the table outside the door. Once staff returns inside, they can exit their car to pick up their materials from the table, a contact free transaction.
When items are returned, the library is asking everyone to please use the book return slot only. All materials will be quarantined for 72 hours prior to checking in and returning to the shelves. “We believe this procedure will keep everyone safe, healthy and happily using the Library again”, said Jeannie Kays, Director of Library Services.
