As Acrisure Arena prepares for the Coachella Valley Firebirds Western Conference Finals playoff games next week, their most popular crosswalk near the Main Plaza will be transformed into “Pathway to Pride,” a painting experience in celebration of Pride Month.
The rainbow-painted crosswalk will be completed by local leaders and will remain in place through June 30, serving as a literal and metaphorical pathway that invites guests to walk across a vivid reminder of our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equality.
Local leaders will include:
- John Page, Senior Vice President of Acrisure Arena and CV Firebirds
- Mayor Karina Quintanilla, City of Palm Desert
- Mayor Steven Hernandez, City of Coachella
- Michael O’Keefe, City of Rancho Mirage Council Member
- Steven Henke, Desert AIDS Project’s Chief of Brand Marketing
- Coachella Valley Pride Hockey and other local organizations
WHEN: Wednesday, May 29 from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.
WHERE: Acrisure Arena, 75702 Varner Rd, Palm Desert, CA 92211
In addition, the adjacent Iceplex will be offering complimentary skate rentals and Pride giveaways at the 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Public Skate sessions on May 29.

The Coachella Valley Firebirds are significant supporters of Palm Springs Pride, participating as a Rainbow Sponsor of 2024 Pride Week and leading sponsorships of various events, including the Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast (May 9), Big Gay BBQ (June 7 & 8), OUTstanding Voices celebration throughout June, Community Leadership Council All Boards Reception (July 18), and Pride Honors Awards (October 2).
